Dr. Yuri Dublyansky of Innsbruck University studies ancient cave art from the Ural Mountains in Russia to help better understand their age and how humans have evolved from thousands of years ago.
Fragment of the composition Horses and Signs on the southwest wall of Hall of Chaos. Drawings of a trapeze and of the lower horse. In the left part of the frame figures are partly concealed by a light-colored vertical band. This is the thin film of white calcite that precipitated from water films over the last 3-4 years. A series of red squares aligned vertically along the right side of this band are places where fresh calcite was removed by associates of NPC in 2017.
